Rosalind Emberveil – Handmade Victorian Steampunk Journal with Ruby Gem
A one-of-a-kind handmade steampunk journal created as a Victorian collectible. The design draws from antique keepsakes and fantasy relics, objects that feel both functional and quietly magical. It evokes the sense of something discovered in a forgotten study, a travelling alchemist’s bag, or a cabinet of curiosities.
At the center sits a handcrafted oval ruby-toned gem, shaped and finished by hand, and set as the focal point of the cover. Surrounding it are layered antique brass elements and whimsical details that give the piece depth and character, lending the journal a subtle gothic undertone without tying it to a single narrative. Rather than recreating a specific era or story, the design brings together fragments of nature, folklore, and clockwork, allowing the journal to feel discovered rather than newly made.
Each journal is assembled slowly and intuitively, with the composition allowed to develop naturally during the making process. No two pieces are ever the same. Every finished journal carries its own quiet presence as a collectible artifact meant to be held, used, and kept.
