Cassian Spectrum – Handmade Fantasy Steampunk Journal with Rainbow Gems

When I was building this cover, I made the gemstones by hand, one color at a time. Without planning it, I kept choosing one of each shade, as if the set needed to be complete. Once they were lined up together, they stopped feeling like “decorations” and started feeling like collected pieces, like the kind of object you make when you are trying to unlock something.

There is a certain famous glove in film that does this for all the wrong reasons. This was my quiet rebuttal. Same idea of gathered power, but turned toward something better: a small ritual for opening energy, focus, and potential. The rainbow gems read like stored light, each color carrying its own mood.

Built on a deep black base, the cover layers clockwork gears, a vintage dial, chains and metal charms around an iridescent emerald core that catches light like a living ember. The result feels spellbound rather than styled, perfect for fantasy writers, steampunk collectors, gothic journaling lovers, and anyone who wants a handmade journal that feels like it holds something inside.
